Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, and it’s an opportunity to strengthen our alliance against cancer.

When Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy formed more than 20 years ago, it was with one goal: to fund research into the power of cell and gene therapy as a potential cure for cancer. Many people thought our mission was too ambitious, but we’ve made extraordinary progress. The advancements of the last 20 years have led to the FDA approving seven cell and gene therapies for different types of cancer.

More work needs to be done, though, and it requires your support. Mark your calendars for Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29 (three weeks away) and be on the lookout for more emails from ACGT in the coming weeks.

Together we can transform how cancer is treated – and bring cures to patients.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, making it one of the most important times of the year for raising awareness of common cancers.

Approximately 236,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with lung cancer each year. Close to 62,000 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer annually.

Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy is committed to advancing cell and gene therapy research and development for these two cancers. Brian Brown, PhD, of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, has an ongoing grant from ACGT focused on lung cancer. Three other ACGT Fellows with current grants are focused on pancreatic cancer.
